1st IEEE International Symposium on Last-Mile Smart Mobility
Call for Papers
1st IEEE International Symposium on Last-Mile Smart Mobility
November 28 - 29, 2016, Paris, France
The 2015 United Nation Conference on Climate Change in Paris, COP21, provided a great momentum in kicking-off the sustainable mobility as a strategy to curb climate change. Never in the history of UN climate summits has there been such a bright spotlight on transport.
To tackle the sustainable mobility challenges, the first International Symposium on Last-Mile Smart Mobility aims at becoming annual forum for presenting and discussing new technologies relevant to new alternative solutions to traditional cars, as their extensive results in more traffic congestion, noise, pollution, and less safe environments within cities. The objective of the symposium is to debate all aspects relevant the last-mile smart mobility from the embedded and ubiquitous computing perspectives. Several topics of discussion will be facilitated, including, but are not limited to, the following areas :
possible publication in several indexed international journals.

Innovative solutions for getting people from their residence to public transportation and from public transportation to the place of work.

New technologies for the last mile logistics and goods deliveries within urban area, from local stores or depots to citizens home or work doorstep.

Mobility innovative applications and services based on ambient intelligence to assist residents as well as tourists in in their travel journey across a multi-modal transport network.

Mobility sensing, modeling, and analyzing of people preferences related to last-mile mobility solutions based on mobility behavior observed
The symposium will be held in conjunction with three joint IEEE international conferences :
• 14th IEEE International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing
• 15th IEEE International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications
• 19th IEEE International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering
This present call is for original and unpublished papers non-longer than 8 pages. The reviewer will be single blind. Papers accepted for the technical program of the symposium will be included in the conference proceedings to be published and indexed in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Selected papers of exceptional quality will be considered for
