Dr. Alin-Mihai CĂILEAN (alinc@eed.usv.ro) senior lecturer and senior researcher at “Stefan cel Mare” University of Suceava (USV), Suceava, Romania, coordinator of the USV Optical Wireless Communication Research Group will present his work on vehicular Visible Light Communications (VLC) in a seminar entitled “Developing Vehicular Visible Light Communications Systems at University of Suceava – A Successful Story”. The seminar will be in Casimir room in LISV at 2 pm the 6 july 2022.

Dr. Alin-Mihai CĂILEAN (alinc@eed.usv.ro) senior lecturer and senior researcher at “Stefan cel Mare” University of Suceava (USV), Suceava, Romania, coordinator of the USV Optical Wireless Communication Research Group will present his work on vehicular Visible Light Communications (VLC) in a seminar entitled “Developing Vehicular Visible Light Communications Systems at University of Suceava – A Successful Story”.

Alin-Mihai CĂILEAN received his PhD in 2014, after a joint program between the University of Versailles St. Quentin en Yvelines, France Laboratoire d' Ingénierie des Systèmes de Versailles (LISV) and the University of Suceava, Suceava, Romania for a thesis focused on the use of the VLC technology in automotive applications. After the joint PhD thesis, he returned to University of Suceava, Romania (https://usv.ro/en), where he set up a research group focused on developing vehicular VLC systems – USV Optical Wireless Communication Research Group (http://www.vlc.usv.ro/). Together with his research group, Dr. Căilean implemented several research projects focused on the VLC technology development.

In June 2021, Dr. Căilean was granted as Laureate in the 2021 Université Paris-Saclay Jean d'Alembert fellowship program – for the research proposal entitled “Vehicular Visible Light Communications Systems for Enhanced Road Safety: Developing Science through International Partnerships.

In this seminar, he will discuss the activity of his research group, their results, and about some of the vehicular VLC systems that they have implemented in the last few years. Future perspectives will also be addressed.
